William Fox produced a 1926 silent film entitled The Johnstown Flood, directed by Irving Cummings and starring George O'Brien, Florence Gilbert, Janet Gaynor & Anders Randolf (with uncredited appearances by Gary Cooper, Carole Lombard & Clark Gable). William Fried was involved in the project as an architect in the design and construction of the elaborate set. He appears in the first two photos. The film is considered an early masterpiece of special effects in its depiction of the flood.
