- September 5, 2003 - Received Lucy's "referral" info and photos!!!
- September 13, 2003 - Received Lucy's translated documents and medical reports
- September 15, 2003 - Over-nighted our acceptance of the referral to our agency (WACAP)
- September 22, 2003 - WACAP sent acceptance to China for final approval by Chinese agency
- October 1, 2003 - Chinese agency (CCAA) closes for weeklong holiday. Yikes!!!
- October 8, 2003 - CCAA reopens. Processing approval???
- October 17, 2003 - WACAP receives word that only a few November Consular appointments remain.
- October 21, 2003 - WACAP told that no early November appointments available.
- October 21, 2003 - Letters to Consulate to request additional appointments.
- October 22, 2003 - Travel Approval received from CCAA in China.
- October 24, 2003 - Word from WACAP that got appointment and need to be in Nanjing Nov. 30!!!!!
- October 26, 2003 - Depart for Charlotte.
- October 27, 2003 - Depart Charlotte for Shanghai
- October 28, 2003 - Arrive Shanghai.
- October 29, 2003 - Drive from Shanghai to Nanjing
- October 30, 2003 - MEET LUCY AT 3:30 p.m.!!!!!!
- October 31, 2003 - Go to Magistrate to process adoption; meet Notary at hotel for certifications.
- November 1, 2003 - Fly to Guilin for four day visit
- November 5, 2003 - Fly to Guangzhou - Check in at White Swan - Get Lucy's medical checkup.
- November 6, 2003 - Visa appointment at U.S. Consulate
- November 7, 2003 - Facilitators pick up Visa
- November 8, 2003 - Fly to Hong Kong
- November 9, 2003 - Fly HK to Newark - Lucy meets Jed, Karl, Alex, Lisa!!!

Arrive Charlotte and drive home to Boone. WHEW!!!
